These statistics are from local Wayne State Medical School - Just one school. Look at the numbers! 

Wane State Medical School Class of 2030

This represents more applications to one medical college than all 11 podiatry schools combined! It tells you where the interest is and where the best go.

Also demonstrated in the statistics from Wayne State Medical School is how competitive it was this year. They interviewed 11% of their applicants and matriculated 2%. This seems to be a microcosm and not illustrative of all medical schools.

 

My favorite AI is telling me that this year, 35% to 45% of applicants to MD and DO schools were matriculated. It makes you wonder why Wayne State was so much more selective? The year I applied in 1977, medical schools across the board accepted 11% of applicants.
