PODIATRIC EMPLOYEES AND THE LAW |
Employee of VA Podiatrist Indicted for Prescription Fraud
A Roanoke woman has been indicted by a Federal Grand Jury for prescription drug fraud, according to newly unsealed court documents. According to the indictment, Vicki Chilton Mullen, 63, illegally obtained and distributed thousands of prescription drugs while working at a medical office. She worked at a podiatrist office from 2004 to October 2012, when she was fired after it was discovered that she called in and faxed numerous unauthorized prescriptions of Lortab and Ambien. The doctor Mullen worked for has not been charged and is only identified in the indictment as Dr. P.K.
Mullen's son, Gregory Daniel Mullen, his wife, Chastity Carter Mullen, and friend Walter Franklin Bingham have also been charged. The indictment alleges 127,851 pills of hydrocodone and 5,370 pills of ambien were illegally obtained and distributed during the conspiracy.
