Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders received some stern advice from a podiatric physician on what he needs to do to save his life. The legendary Hall of Fame football player, universally known as “Prime Time” and “Coach Prime,” was told he needs to take a sabbatical from the rigors and stress of high-stakes collegiate athletics. Lesly Robinson, DPM, Chair of the Department of Medicine at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, implores Coach Prime to take convalescent leave from coaching duties in Boulder, CO.

“Deion, You’ve Got Me Worried – Please Take a Rest. Deion, you’ve already proven your resilience and determination to the world,” Dr. Robinson wrote in a letter she reportedly delivered exclusively to AllHipHop. “You’ve inspired millions with your faith and your fight. But now, it’s time to rest. Healing is not weakness. It is wisdom. The world needs your leadership, but it needs you healthy and whole even more.” Robinson delivered the admonishment after Sanders, 58, told reporters he was scheduled for a medical procedure to rectify recurring and chronic complications from blood clots in his leg.

IL Podiatrist Lectures on AI at Western NY Meeting
Lawrence Kosova, DPM was one of the keynote speakers at the Shuffle off to Buffalo meeting this weekend in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Kosova spoke about how the doctor and front office staff can use Ambient Speech to keep the office more efficient and to decrease the burn-out associated with doing the administrative burdens and charting.

Query: Coding Keller Bunionectomy with Soft Tissue Work
I went to do a Keller procedure and the entire joint was surrounded by a very aggressive tophi deposition that tethered the EHL tendon, entire joint capsule, and sesamoids. It had to be removed prior to doing the Keller and with no joint capsule left, I had to use a collagen GraftJacket-type of inlay to cover the 1st met head. How do I code this?
Response from thedoctorline.com: Usually anything at the 1st MTPJ is all inclusive. There is CPT 20932 Allograft, includes templating, cutting, placement and internal fixation, when performed; osteoarticular, including articular surface and contiguous bone (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure) HOWEVER, it says "(Use 20932, 20933, 20934 in conjunction with 23210, 23220, 24150, 25170, 27075, 27076, 27077, 27365, 27645, 27704)" so unless payer is nice, they won't pay the graft code with CPT 28292.

RE: Obituary for the DPM Degree

The obituary can now be completed and a necrology constructed. It’s time to sit Shiva, recite the Kaddish, and assemble the musicians for Mozart’s Requiem. The mourning is not for podiatry, it is too strong, stronger than the 70 or 80 years of Psalm 90. The mourning is for the DPM degree. Podiatry is a philosophy much stronger than three initials and will continue to be with us for a long time.
But what we have learned in the last months is that the youth opting for our profession want a plenary license, not the parochial one we have possessed and have thrived under. They want a seat at the adult medical table. How do we know this? Eighty-seven percent (87%) of the podiatrists who answered the survey in PM News stated concerning a professional degree they wanted the option of having a DO degree to practice podiatry or at least have the option of choosing podiatry as physicians with a DO degree. Only 13% said...
