PodChatLive Reaches 200 Episode Milestone
Podiatrists Ian Griffiths (UK) and Craig Payne (Aus) started their podcast back in 2017, with an aim of bringing free and accessible CPD to clinicians worldwide. The first one hundred episodes were all an hour long with guest speakers taking a deep dive into the topic relevant to their expertise/research.

IL Podiatrist Comments on Updated Health Data Interoperability Solution
Regenstrief Institute and SNOMED International have released LOINC Ontology 2.0, an updated version of their interoperability solution designed to streamline the exchange and use of health data across the globe. The update is intended to make it easier for health information system implementers to deploy and manage a broader range of concepts from both Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) and Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine.

The LOINC Ontology is novel and transformative in providing clinical observation content in an integrated format that accelerates interoperability and supports stakeholders with meeting clinical and regulatory requirements.”

AZ Podiatrist Discusses What to Look for in a Ballet Flat
The streamlined and professional-looking ballet flat reigns as the unofficial shoe for the office and beyond, but by their very nature, they are “flat” in design, with little-to-no arch support or cushion. So what exactly constitutes a shoe adequate enough to support the weight of our body? Lauren Wurster, DPM, an Arizona-based foot and ankle specialist and spokesperson for the American Podiatric Medical Association, said that she looks at three main things: Does the shoe have a little give in the toe, without rolling all the way back? Is the sole itself unable to be folded in half? And does the back of the heel offer plenty of stability and not cave in?

“To make it even simpler, if the shoe does not bend or twist, you’re starting off on the right foot!” Dr. Wurster said. She added that when it comes to ballet flats in particular, you should also look for features such as a square shape that offers ample room for your toes, and a shoe that is constructed in breathable materials that prevents your feet from sweating.

2. Fix your mix — a little
Small tweaks to ensure that you are appropriately diversified and have the right level of risk in your investments for your age and circumstances can go a long way toward extending the longevity of your retirement savings and giving you peace of mind. "Big, heroic gestures are never the right move," says Christine Benz, director of personal finance and retirement planning at Morningstar and author of How to Retire. "If you build a portfolio plan you know is durable, then make small, periodic adjustments as needed, you don't have to respond to every economic headline, market move, or inflationary shock that comes along."
If, for instance, you haven't re-balanced in a while, now is the time to do so, because the big run-up in stocks — not only this year but over the past decade — has probably altered your mix substantially. Benz calculates that left untouched, a portfolio that was 60% in U.S. stocks and 40% in U.S. bonds 10 years ago would have shifted to 81% in stocks by the end of June.

RE: Foreign Body Prevention Tip

We all treat kids and adults who spend time on turf. An addition to treating them is looking inside their shoes for the granules or crum rubber that gets inside all the time. I just removed an encapsulated foreign body from a referee's foot who is always on the turf. A suggestion would be for them to vacuum their shoes daily.
