Appeals Court Strikes Down Bid to Reinstate OSHA COVID-19 Protection Standard
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia ruled Friday that it did not have the power to overturn the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA's) decision to scrap a temporary protection standard that outlined requirements for hospitals to keep front-line health workers safe from contracting COVID-19. The union National Nurses United decried the decision.
OSHA issued a temporary protection standard for COVID-19 back in June 2021. However, OSHA did not move to make a permanent standard before the temporary one expired last year, as the agency shifted resources toward a vaccine mandate, the appellate opinion said. OSHA had called for health systems to still impose the standard’s requirements voluntarily.

Is virtually attending a live conference considered in-person attendance? Would this meet 100% of every states license renewal requirements for in-person attendance for every state? This would mean that attending "on-demand" lectures would be the only form that some states limit regarding qualifying for license renewal.

Regarding in person CE, I attended the recent hybrid seminar in person because my state requires 32 hours in person every 2 years. I am confused why this is required by my state since a significant portion of the seminar involved speakers who weren't physically there, and used videoconference technology to present. Florida requires me to attend in person to watch a video screen of presentations.

It seems that not a month goes by without another Medicare "Advantage" Plan found to have their hands in the CMS cookie jar, having submitted fraudulent data from your patients' charts; the latest carrier being Wellcare of Florida. A recent OIG study released today found that of approximately 270 charts they submitted of high risk patients, less than 1/3 of the charts passed the OIG audit. This leaves an astonishing failure rate of over 65%.
If your practice submitted 65% of your claims fraudulently, how long would you be able to stay in practice, escape recoupment, and being fit with an orange...
