In yesterday's PM News, we correctly reported the passing of Donald R. Green, DPM. Unbeknownst to us, we later learned that there are two podiatrists named Donald R. Green. The Donald R. Green whose photo appears in the obituary practiced in Pennsylvania. The information listed in the second paragraph applies to the other Donald R. Green who is alive and well in San Diego, California. We apologize for any confusion this mistaken identity may have caused.

He served eight years on the medical staff of the NHL’s Washington Capitols and Georgetown University’s athletic department.

Tips to Make Your Practice More Profitable
Managing the financial aspects of a medical practice can be challenging, especially while navigating the increasing complexities of healthcare reimbursement systems. Here are some specific areas you can control that will help enhance your practice finances, ensuring a healthier financial future.
4. Properly manage cashflow
One significant error we often see is allowing idle cash to build up in a practice. Avoid this issue by regularly working with your practice consultant to determine appropriate reserve levels and accurately forecast expenses so that excess cash flow can be distributed to the owners at regular intervals. While 401K plans with profit sharing can certainly help accelerate retirement savings and tax deductions, don't get caught off-guard by high year-end profit-sharing calculations. Be sure to coordinate with your plan advisor to estimate the total amount needed to contribute for the practice and escrow money each month in anticipation.

To piggy back on Dr. Pressman’s post: When listening for Doppler sounds, pay attention to the difference in quality of the sounds from all 3 vessels. In this article we recently published, we employed a modified lower-extremity Allen test to demonstrate an irregularity in vascular perfusion in the foot after a difference in pitch between the dorsalis pedis artery and the posterior tibial artery was heard using a hand-held Doppler.
