TX Podiatrist Recommends Exercises to Avoid High Heel Pain
Spurs, bunions, and a shortened Achilles heel are a few injuries related to our shoes, Dr. David Gunther with Westside Podiatry in Cy-Fair said. “Many overuse injuries, many acute injuries are caused from years of high heels,” Gunther said.

Gunther added, everyone that has or is going to wear heels ever again should stretch! “The exercise one should do, most importantly, is the Achilles tendon stretch, also known as the runner's stretch,” Gunther said. Any way to stretch the muscles in the opposite direction that your high heel positions them will help strengthen your feet.

OrthoNeuro has announced that Ralph J. Napolitano, Jr., DPM will join their multi-specialty physician practice March 1, 2017. Dr. Napolitano graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, OH. He completed his residency training in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Heritage Valley Health System in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Napolitano is a double board certified podiatrist who specializes in medicine, surgery, and wound care of the foot, ankle, and lower leg. He was the first podiatrist in the state of Ohio to earn the title of Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP). He has privileges at Mt. Carmel and Licking Memorial hospitals, New Albany Surgery Center, Pickerington Surgery Center, and Central Ohio Surgical Institute.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, the musical side of the Jack London State Historic Park legacy will be aired with an afternoon Valentine’s Day Concert, presented by the Jack London Piano Club. Naturally, the concert will be performed on the Steinway Grand Piano that the writer’s wife, Charmian London, played with regularity.

The Valentine’s Day performance features love songs and piano solos, ranging from classical to popular music. Performers include several members of the club, including piano solo and songs by Michael O’Brien, and vocals by Dr. Ralph Hoyal (aka “the Singing Podiatrist” and a frequent talent on local stages), with piano accompaniment by Jenny Jones.

Price Confirmed as HHS Secretary
Newly elected HHS Secretary Tom Price likely will spend his first few days focusing on efforts to stabilize the individual health insurance market as Republicans work to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Following the pattern of strictly party-line votes on two previous nominees — Attorney General-designate Sen. Jeff Sessions and Betsy DeVos for Education secretary — the former congressman from Georgia was approved early Friday on a 52-47 vote.
Price has to figure out how to keep insurers in the market for 2018 to avoid a meltdown that could leave 20 million people without coverage. Insurance industry leaders say they need greater certainty about market rules before they decide this spring whether to offer plans and how to price them. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump is counting on the staunchly conservative former orthopedic surgeon to lead the effort to draft an ACA replacement plan, while also taking steps to dismantle the law through administrative measures.

6. They do not do their jobs. As employers, I imagine we all know what that means. That stack of papers that you asked someone to follow up on or those phone calls that need to be made seem to never get done. Worse, you keep asking the same person over and over. They keep promising to get it done, yet never do. This person is never going to catch up. There are too many people out there who are looking for work and will be happy to take on that pile of work.
