NY Podiatrist's Foundation Holds 7th Annual Toy Drive
On January 13, 2023, Kathy Reilly-Fallon, DPM and her Heavenly Productions Foundation made a visit to White Plains Hospital (WPH) Foundation office and visited with Brooke Emmett and Carlton Marson, the development coordinators at the Foundation office. They donated 200 toys in honor of Robert Tucker Esq. who serves as a Board Member of White Plains Hospital.

According to the Foundation office, the 200 toys will be distributed to pediatric patients at White Plains Hospital Emergency Room, the Pediatric Unit and the White Plains Hospital Clinic for underserved children.

2023 Asset Protection Resolutions
We start 2023 with some asset protection and risk management resolutions for physicians and medical practice owners that will help make your success more predictable.
2. Resolve to invest in personal insurance in the following key areas:

High limit personal liability umbrella insurance on your home and cars, $2 million is the bare minimum I now recommend to everyone, and more if you are high net worth.

High limit loss coverage that adequately covers the current actual value of your home and its contents. Carefully consider high limit coverage for flooding and damage-related extreme weather events.

Consider life insurance in an amount both adequate to pay off any debt you want covered for your family in the event of your death (and the loss of your income, like a mortgage, and those who may have guaranteed student debt for you or covered educational costs with an expectation of repayment) and to produce income adequate to support them. Single physicians without children, consider if there are those you need to cover including domestic partners, parents, and extended family members you planned to support.

Obtain true “own occupation” disability insurance in an amount as close as possible to your actual income and that completely covers your fixed personal overhead as a bare minimum.

Response: "Podiatry can be a rewarding career for those interested in helping people with foot and ankle conditions. Podiatrists, also known as doctors of podiatric medicine (DPMs), are medical professionals who diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and lower leg. They provide a wide range of services, from prescribing medication and performing minor surgeries to providing orthotic devices and other treatments.
Podiatry can be rewarding as it can help people to improve their mobility, reduce pain, and maintain an active lifestyle. Additionally, podiatrists can work in different settings, such as private practices, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and research institutions. They also have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including children, athletes, and older adults.
On the other hand, the field of podiatry can also be demanding, with long hours, a high volume of patients, and the need to keep up with the latest research and technologies. Additionally, the field of podiatry can be competitive, with a limited number of positions available in certain areas.
In general, if you have a passion for helping people and an interest in the anatomy and physiology of the foot and ankle, and you have the ability to work well under pressure and are willing to put in the time and effort required to become a podiatrist, it can be a rewarding and fulfilling career."
