Dr. Sarah Kathleen Sweeney, 39, passed away on January, 13, 2024. Sarah earned his podiatric medical degree at the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Miami Shores, FL.

She then completed her surgical residency at several hospitals in the Miami area. Afterwards, Sarah moved to Port Arthur, TX where she practiced medicine for several years before moving to Saint Louis, Missouri. She had recently opened up her own podiatry practice in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Patricia Ann Williams-Bennett passed away on January 5, 2024. She earned a Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1992; she received the David A. Rabkow Award of Excellence in Diabetes Research.

Dr. Bennett, a lifelong learner, loved teaching and learning. She taught Anatomy & Physiology at Essex Community College in Newark, NJ and Biology at Seton Hall University.

Dr. Trantalis a fellow ICPM graduate is correct. The other medical specialties in general are NOT interested in knowing or believing that custom orthotics can make such a difference. I think the reason is that they see this as voodoo medicine because everyone, from chiropractors to Good Feet Stores to your local running store make these. Therefore, custom orthotics have lost their credibility.
It is a shame because we can help so many people who depend on their medical providers to help them and they are not doing what is best for their patients. A true shame. What the APMA needs to do is a campaign to educate the public. Depending on the general medical profession to come around just is not going to happen.
