What is the E/M code series that would be considered for an initial visit when seeing a patient in an inpatient, psychiatric facility (POS 56)? Would it be a home code CPT 99341?

Response: -56 would be the appropriate place of service for an in patient psychiatric facility. The E/M code would be the same as the series for in-patient hospital. Most common according to my readings are: Initial hospital care CPTs 99221-99223, and then established hospital care CPTs 99231-99233.
