RE: Outrageous Shoes of the Day

How to show off your toes in winter?

These 'toe shoes' are an ultimate piece of art for every fashionista in search of the most unique shoe. The artist symbolizes the personality of the woman, her unique identity caught in an original artwork. The artist paints the woman's toes by hand on the outside of the shoe. This gives the shoe a unique signature of the person who wears the shoe.

No wonder they say high heels are dangerous!

This high heel shoe car was created by David Crow in Seattle. He used a 1972 Honda CB 350 motor and running gear. The shoe car took him four years to complete.

The World's Oldest Prosthetic is a Big Wooden Toe

Likely the world's oldest prosthetic device, an artificial wooden toe was found on a 3,000-year-old mummy of an Egyptian woman in 1997. Now, with the advancement of microscopy, x-ray technology, and computer tomography, researchers from the University of Basel in Switzerland have learned a great deal about how the toe functioned, what it's made of, and how it was fabricated.

Similar to today’s prostheses, it appears to be precisely tailored to the woman who wore it - having been refitted to her foot several times. The toe consists of three sections - two of wood and one of leather - and likely aided her ability to walk.

RE: Mrs. Malaprops Returns

A patient came in today for care of dried blood under her nail. She heard that you can get cancer under the nail and wanted to make sure it wasn’t that “Melatonin” type of cancer. I re-assured her that it wasn’t melatonin, or even melanoma. I think that she will sleep better now that she knows she doesn’t have “Melatonin”!
