INTERNATIONAL PODIATRY AND THE LAW
Fraudulent Woman Convicted of Practicing Podiatry Without a License
The Criminal Court Number 1 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has convicted a woman for professional intrusion after she practiced as a podiatrist in various pharmacies in Tenerife without holding the official academic qualification or being registered with the Official College of Podiatrists of the Canary Islands. Among the verified actions by the court was the treatment of patients in pharmacy consultations, where she measured arches, detected biomechanical alterations, recommended orthotic treatments, and addressed issues such as ingrown toenails using instruments reserved for qualified medical professionals.
