APMA Shifts JAPMA Journal to Open Access

The American Podiatric Medical Association says the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association (JAPMA) has transitioned to open access through a new publishing partnership with MDPI, starting with Volume 116, Issue 1. Under the shift, JAPMA content will be freely available to readers worldwide, including clinicians, researchers, educators, and policymakers, according to APMA.

Dr. Warren Joseph

The Association positions the move as a way to widen access to evidence-based podiatric research by removing subscription barriers. Warren S. Joseph, DPM, Editor of JAPMA, says, “Transitioning JAPMA to open access is a major step forward for the journal and for the podiatric profession.”
