APMA Notches Important 2026 Medicare Fee Schedule Wins

 

CMS has now released the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule. CMS finalized a 3.77 percent increase to the conversion factor for items and services furnished by Qualifying APM Participants and a 3.26 percent increase to the conversion factor for other items and services. This results in an estimated 2-percent increase for podiatry overall.

 

Congress also provided a 2.5-percent payment increase for 2026 in the One Big Beautiful Bill, bringing the total increase to podiatrists, on average, to more than 4 percent, depending on practice mix. APMA's advocacy paid off with an important win related to arthrodesis RVUs as well! CMS finalized two important increases in Work RVUs (wRVUs) that will benefit podiatrists: The wRVU for CPT® 28750 will increase from 8.57 to 8.75, and the wRVU for CPT® 28755 will increase from 4.88 to 7.50.
