The Passing of Edward Fazekas, DPM
Dr. Edward Fazekas passed away peacefully yesterday with his loving wife Maria at his side. Ed touched so many people with his kind soul- most importantly as the ultimate family man; a super- caring husband and incredible father to each of four beautiful children. Dr. Fazekas was the most compassionate physician, developing lifelong relationships with each of his patients, relationships which we all strive for. He was a pillar of greatness within the medical community, forming trustworthy bonds of friendship with everyone he met.
I am truly blessed and so fortunate to have had the incredible opportunity to spend my entire 29 years of private practice alongside Ed. He was everything you could hope for as a trustworthy friend, a successful colleague, a business partner, and as a mentor- a mentor with traits that we all try to emulate daily: Love your family and friends, do what is right, use common sense, work hard, and enjoy life every day. Ed was a servant and leader in life and in our medical profession – he served as a past-president of FPMA, as a 20-plus year APMA Florida Delegate, and as a Fellow of AAPSM and ABFAS.
He was a true gentleman of character, who willing served as a volunteer leader of the Knights of Columbus in the Catholic church. Our children have grown up together and all have flourished and have been touched by his keen guidance, witty humor, and astute demeanor.
Each Christmas, Ed would dress up in a full Santa outfit, ring loud jingle bells and bless our entire staff with good tidings and cheer, with wishes for a happy new year. Thank you, Ed, for being such a shining beacon and positive influence in my life and in so many other lives.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his beautiful wife Maria and children Juliana, Nicholas, Gabriela, and Christy in this difficult time of grieving. Missing you already, Buddy. Rest In Paradise now and forever Ed.
