PRACTICE MANAGEMENT TIP OF THE DAY
Tips for Texting Patients
3B. Do not use your personal phone number. Providing your cell phone or personal phone number to patients might seem convenient. It may seem like a great way to provide first rate service to your patients. But, giving patients your personal mobile number is generally a bad idea.
Second, texting from your personal phone number also blurs boundaries with your patients. Most patients will respect your personal time; however, there are those who may not acknowledge boundaries easily. They may send frequent urgent messages and text you during “off” hours. They may send information that increases your liability.
