Virtual Assistants and Their Value in Our Podiatry Practices (Anas Khoury, DPM)
I was thrilled to see your inquiry about the potential role of virtual assistants in podiatry practices. Having been deeply involved in the field, I see tremendous potential in integrating these technologies and individuals especially in our current workforce and the difficulties that all practices have had trying to find quality individuals to help our clinics. Here are just a few of the tasks that VAs can do for our clinics:
1. Streamlined Appointments: A virtual assistant can help manage appointments efficiently, sending reminders to patients, rescheduling when necessary, and thereby reducing no-shows.
2. Patient Queries: Many a time, patients have simple queries past their visit. Virtual assistants can handle these routine questions, freeing up our medical staff for more intricate patient care.
3. Data Entry & Management: Inputting patient records, updating histories, and other administrative tasks can be seamlessly managed, ensuring that our practice runs smoothly and errors are minimized.
4. Work Hours Availability: Unlike human assistants, virtual ones are available most of the time round the clock. This ensures that patient queries or appointment bookings can be done at any time, improving patient experience.
5. Cost-Efficiency: While there's an initial investment in setting up and training a virtual assistant, in the long run, they can be more cost- effective than hiring additional staff, especially for administrative roles.
6. Integrating with Modern Tech & Tools: As we move towards streamlined systems and other online platforms, having a virtual assistant that can interact and manage these platforms becomes invaluable.
Disclosure: It's also essential to mention, in the interest of transparency, that I am a co-owner of Bottleneck Medical We've been exploring how to best merge the realms of medical practices with modern technology. My recommendation stems from a genuine belief in the value that virtual assistants can bring to our practices, and not just a business interest.
