NJ Doctor Pleads Guilty to Bilking Amtrak Out of $1.4M

My heart aches when I read about these cases. I am
glad that the Editor includes these in his blog. I
cannot understand how or why some DPMs would
believe that they are not being observed, and that
their billings are supposedly private. It is
important to say this outright: "A computerized
search of your billings for the last 5 years can
be obtained by almost any examining authority in
as short a time as 20 minutes."

Any pattern of abuse can be identified in about
the same length of time. If I were surmising which
DPMs get involved in these illegal projects, I
would suggest that they are probably NOT members
of the APMA and do not read this blog. In that
respect, they are extremely naive and have
"beliefs" about modern medical practice that are
completely mistaken.

YOUR BILLINGS TO NOT HAVE GOVERNMENT PRIVACY. ANY
EXAMINING AUTHORITY CAN PRINT THEM OUT AND GO OVER
THEM AS SOON AS THEY THINK THERE ARE
IRREGULARITIES.

If you are considering entering into some kind of
conspiracy to collect for procedures you did not
do, please jettison that idea immediately, while
you still can. If you are involved in one of them,
you may still have a way out, by contacting a
healthcare attorney, following their advice and
making arrangements to refund the stolen money.
The Government may still allow you to practice if
there is a way you can pay it back. But of course,
I cannot guarantee that.

The one thing I can promise is that there is no
privacy for your billings and that you will
eventually be discovered. If I can prevent one DPM
trying to do this, this note will be worth every
word. I have served as both a Medicare auditor and
have also been audited.
