Detroit Medical Center Stops MI Podiatrist’s Retaliation Appeal
A Michigan podiatrist failed to show that Detroit Medical Center violated the False Claims Act by declining to let him practice in retaliation for raising concerns about alleged healthcare fraud, the Sixth Circuit affirmed Thursday.
Ali El-Khalil, DPM didn't show that Detroit Medical Center engaged in an adverse employment action when its medical executive committee decided not to restore his medical privileges after they had lapsed, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled in a non-precedential decision.
