Medicare Moves to Speed DME to Diabetics, Others

 

A new proposed rule would provide more therapy choices for Medicare beneficiaries with diabetes and make it easier for durable medical equipment manufacturers to make their products available to beneficiaries, the Trump administration said.

 

The proposal, announced Tuesday by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, would streamline the process for Medicare coding, coverage, and payment for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotic devices, and supplies (DMEPOS).
