SUCCESS TIPS FROM THE MASTERS

Bret Ribotsky: DPMs are audited at a higher frequency than other physicians. Is there something that each of us should add to our notes that may help assist us if we get audited?

Curtis Keith Greer, Esq.:  One thing I see a few podiatrists doing that I wish more would do when it comes to their notes is to have the initial presentation documented by the office staff. Having a second person collaborating in the medical record can go a very long way. It is best if the chief complaint is entered twice - once by the staff and again by the physician.
