Free Public Domain Version of CPRS
In a few short minutes, I was able to find the following links regarding downloads of the free, public domain version of the VA’s electronic health record CPRS. It wasn’t hard. http://www.openclinical.org/os_OpenVistA.html OpenVistA is the Open Source version of VistA (Veterans health Information Systems and Technology Architecture), the healthcare information system developed by and for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs http://www.hardhats.org/projects/VistA_Install/Vis ta_Install.html What follows are instructions for installing VistA using Caché v5 in a Microsoft Windows operating system. The Vista software is available from the Department of Veterans Affairs' ftp site as a zipped CACHE.DAT file. (Note: The VA's ftp site is not compatible with Netscape's ftp. Either use Windows Explorer or FTP software). These instructions are the result of contributions from many. Information came from web sites such as www.hardhats.org and www.seaislandsystems.com, from the Hardhats mailing list, from responses to questions addressed to or provided by specific individuals working outside the list, from technical support from www.intersystems.com, from the lessons learned by those who assembled this list and from the documentation provided with VistA and Caché. Others also helped to format and set up this document for release and post it on the HardHats site. There were many testers and reviewers of the instructions as well. Thank you all and congratulations for finally getting these instructions done! http://cprs.sourceforge.net/ This is the VistA CPRS project ("cprs") This project is hosted by SourceForge.net. The project team describes it as: Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) client that interfaces with the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA). H.
