IL Podiatrist Receives Excellence in Medicine Award

 

The Illinois State Crime Commission and Police Athletic League of Illinois presented Severko Hrywnak, DPM with the Excellence in Medicine Award at a ceremony held on June 18th in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. The award is given to a physician who has responded to healthcare concerns and demonstrated compassion for the citizens of Illinois. Dr. Hrywnak established Project HUGS (Helping Underinsured Get Surgery) in July of 2011 and since then, the charitable organization has provided hundreds of surgeries for those in need of help in getting back to a normal productive life.

Hrywnak is a successful businessman who has built numerous commercial, residential, and healthcare facilities in Illinois. He holds degrees in medicine, podiatry and law. As a professor in clinical medicine, Dr. Hrywnak has also received numerous awards for teaching medical students earning their MD degrees.
