Why is APMA's E-advocacy Program Underutilized by Members?

APMA has listened to the concerns regarding our eAdvocacy system and has responded by creating a
brand new site for our members. The new site is
currently in testing and will be ready for member
use in July. Best of all, the site will be mobile
ready so you can advocate from your iPad,
smartphone, or any other device at any time and
 from anywhere.

Advocating for podiatric medicine has never been
easier. Simply click on your topic and you are
taken to a page that displays all the background
information and support material you need to speak
to your legislators about the issues affecting
podiatry. From the same page, you can send a pre-
written message to your elected officials.
However, to make a more forceful impact, we
encourage our members to personalize the message
 with their unique experiences.

The new site will require members to log in with
their APMA ID and password. However, rather than
seeing this as a detriment it should be viewed as
a benefit for our users. A log in allows us to
create a unique experience for each visitor. The
system will pull your contact information so you
don’t have to enter your address or search for
your congressional leaders when sending an alert.
 Additionally, it will automatically display
current issues specifically for your state. Also,
it allows us to keep the resource exclusively for
 use by APMA members.

More information about APMA’s new home for
eAdvocacy is available in the June issue of APMA
News. Additionally, stop by the APMA booth (#623)
at the Annual Scientific Meeting in Honolulu, July
24–27, for a personal demonstration of the new
 site.
