YOU CAN'T MAKE THESE THINGS UP

RE: Voters Prefer Oncychomycosis Over Congress

It's no surprise these days that Congress isn't very popular, but a new poll says voters have a higher opinion of witches, hemorrhoids, and jury duty than their lawmakers in Washington. Public Policy Polling, a Democratic-leaning firm based in North Carolina, asked a series of questions trying to gauge support for Congress compared with government-run institutions such as the Internal Revenue Service, health problems such as toenail fungus, cockroaches, and dog poop.

Voters say they have a higher opinion of hemorrhoids than Congress, by 53% to 31%. More than seven in 10 voters say they view jury duty more favorably than Congress, which musters only 18% support in that comparison. Even toenail fungus rates 3 percentage points higher Congress.

Meta shoes are a piece of digital fashion footwear history and ask questions around digital footprints and treading new ground inside game worlds and across cyberspaces.

RE: Outrageous Shoes of the Day

Mae West was petite, between 4 feet 11 inches and 5 feet 2 inches tall. On screen, however, she looked larger than life, and this exhibition shows why: She wore shoes that made her 8 1/2 inches taller. A feat of foot engineering, each shoe has two layers: white platform shoes with ankle straps bolted on top of a pair of wooden silver pumps.

Mae West's elevator shoes

"Under a long dress you wouldn't notice that these shoes were being worn," says co-curator Emily Stoehrer. "These silver toes would just peep out thrrough the hem of the dress." West is said to have worn them all the time — on screen and off!

Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Cruise 2027 show in Biarritz drew attention for an unconventional heel-only sandal consisting of a heel cap and ankle tie. Reactions ranged from praise for its whimsical concept to criticism over its practicality and styling. Dubbed the "shoeless shoe".

For your heels only?

This new design, By Chanel is more like a heel cap than a full shoe. It covers the back of the foot, supports the heel area, and ties around the ankle while leaving the front of the foot exposed.

A patient came in today concerned about the swelling in her lower legs and ankles. She wanted to know if I knew where she could purchase those "depression" socks?
