Best Laser for Nail Fungus and Verrucae? (Noah Blumofe, DPM)

I find that the use of a Diowave 980nm laser to
be very effective for both toenails and verracae
as well as for pain and inflammation ( plantar
fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and
ulcerations). Having helped to develop many of
these specific protocols for Diowave 980nm
laser,I would like to make a comment about the
effectiveness of all of these lasers and what
you need to look for in a laser.

Summary

1. You need a laser that just doesn't treat
fungus toe nails and warts. The fourth leading
cause of pain is due to tendonopathy
conditions, i.e. plantar fasciitis and Achilles
tendonitis. This is a huge podiatry patient
market and growing every day

2. Buying an expensive laser that does veins and
tattoos and scars reductions is really not
podiatry. How many patients go to the podiatrist
to have their veins treated or their tattoos
removed?

3. The laser must be light and portable and very
easy to repair. Diode lasers fit the bill. I
have used yag lasers and they are very expensive
to buy and repair
4. Patient selection and expectation is just as
important as the choice of laser. Face the
facts. This is fungus and when you see a 95-97%
success rate quote, you know as a podiatrist
something just isn't right

5. The price of the laser must be low enough for
the patient to afford the procedure and the
doctor to afford the laser.

Disclaimer: I own a laser company called Clearly
Beautiful Laser Solutions.
