60% of My Practice is Diabetes-Related: VA Podiatrist

Podiatrist J. Randolph Clements recently returned to Rocky Mount to join his father at Blue Ridge Podiatry.

Clements said the most common foot problems he sees are ailments related to diabetes."Sixty percent of my practice is taking care of patients with diabetes," Clements said. "With the triad of decreased circulation, nerve damage and compromised immune systems ... once a diabetic patient has a foot ulcer or infection, it is difficult to heal." The key to foot health for diabetics is to take preventive measures.
