The criminal case against the husband of a Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast member has been dropped. Rhode Island State Police accused Brian Pontarelli in early October of placing a tracking device in his wife’s car. Now, court documents show Rulla Pontarelli did not want the case against her husband to move forward.

Strategic Options for Physicians Facing Challenges in Private Medical Practice
Here are some strategic options for physician practices to consider in this evolving, competitive market:
6. Sell your practice to, and become employed by, a national specialty company that is part of a healthcare insurer/payor. Payor-owned medical groups have become very larger players in physician group acquisition/consolidation over the last 20 years. One of many examples is Optum, which is rumored to have almost 100,000 physicians under its control nationwide (including the largest multi-specialty groups in around 30 of the largest major metropolitan regions in the country).
Although there are advantages of being part of such a large company, many physicians are averse to payors, and do not desire to partner with payor-sponsored entities.

Year-End Tax Planning Can Protect You From a Big Tax Bill
On individual tax planning, look at the overall impact on 2025 and 2026. The goal is to reduce your federal tax liability over both years, not just one.
Act quickly if you want a tax break for energy-efficient home improvements. Two credits end after this year. The residential clean-energy property credit is for people who install an alternative energy system in their home that relies on a renewable energy source, such as solar, wind, geothermal or fuel cell, or battery storage technology. Think solar panels, solar-powered water heaters, geothermal heat pumps, wind turbines, fuel cells, etc. The credit is equal to 30% of the cost of materials and installation.
The smaller energy-efficient home improvement credit applies to insulation, boilers, central air-conditioning systems, water heaters, heat pumps, exterior doors, windows and the like that meet certain energy efficiency ratings. There is a general $1,200 aggregate yearly credit limit, but some specific upgrades have lower monetary caps, while others have larger ones.
Both of these popular tax credits were repealed in the OBBB for property placed in service after December 31, 2025. Paying for these energy-saving improvements before January 1, 2026, isn't enough to get a tax credit. You will need to pay for them and get them completed before year-end.

RE: The Fable of the Porcupines

It was the coldest winter ever. Many animals died because of the cold. The porcupines, realizing the situation, decided to group together to keep warm. This way they covered and protected themselves; but the quills of each one wounded their closest companions. After a while, they decided to distance themselves one from the other and they began to die, alone and frozen. So they had to make a choice: either accept the quills of their companions or disappear from the Earth.
Wisely, they decided to go back to being together. They learned to live with the little wounds caused by the close relationship with their companions in order to receive the heat that came from the others. This way they were able to survive. The best relationship is not the one that brings together perfect people, but when each individual learns to live with the imperfections of others and can admire the other person's good qualities.
The moral of the story: Learn to live with the pricks in your life.
